Semporna citizens celebrate English Channel swimmer as hero





Semporna: solo swimmers swim the English Channel 1Malaysia Unity (RPSI1M), Estino Taniyu, who managed to cross the English Channel on 21 September, is celebrated as a hero by the people of Semporna.

Members of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) 24-year-old received thunderous applause from more 2,000 people gathered in the village of Semporna-Egret Egret, birthplace Estino, this afternoon. 

Also Estino homecoming, a record with a swim for 13 hours 45 minutes and 45 seconds, is the Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Member of Parliament Semporna, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie. Estino finish solo swim organized by the Seven Continents Club Malaysia Exploration at Sandy Beach, Calaif, France at 10.20 pm (Malaysian time) after the start of Dover Beach, United Kingdom at 8:41 am (Malaysian time).Shafie, while welcoming the success, Estino regard as a hero and his success to overcome challenges before the successful capture of the English Channel is one of pride, not only to citizens but people Semporna Sabah and Malaysia as a whole. "This is an impressive record and bring honor to our country and community well Villages Egrets, Storks, this Semporna. Fairy in Kuala Turtle and Wells Pepper Magical Mystery

Stone Nousung
According to the story of our ancestors, called anciently there was an old woman and a son. Those two are very poor. When the son getting older, he went abroad to make a living . Every few years he became rich from his wife who comes from rich family. The young man with his wife and his followers sailed on a ship. 

When she was aware of the return of his son to be happy and touched it celebrated the highly anticipated arrival. How surprised the mother when her son was pretending not to recognize her anymore. With a heart as dust, then the mother was cursing her son,then the son immediately  turned  into stone together with his followers even into stone. The ship shape or stone is still visible even on the shores of majestic cape Sawangan Kuala Turtle beach.

Long time ago, there was a hunter. These hunters were hunting deer with his two dogs. Because of  deer hunter too fast then the hunter left far away on the back.Then the deer seaward to be followed by the dogs earlier.Finally the hunters arrived at the place where the deer are. But he turn to shocked to find that deer  and the dogs were turned to stone. Until now the stones are still visible in the beach of cape Sawangan Coast, Cape Turtle.

A sad event in Batu Caves in Luang
This sad event occurred a long time ago. At that time there is a pair of bridal wedding  at the bride home. After a few days after the wedding ceremony, then it is now about time they returned to the house of the groom (virtual Wagu said the tatana).Accompanied by her family, it is the time for the bride and groom walk in the early morning . When they were almost at rock called Gua Batu Luang, a sudden strong winds, dark clouds and it was followed by heavily rain. 
Aware of this situation they would rush to seek refuge in a cave now known Luang Cave Rock. Once the rain stopped so they began to come out of the caves. The groom is the second-last out. The last person still in the cave is the bride. Once the bride is stretched his hand to pull her husband suddenly land in the cave precipitates / down. The husband desperately trying to save his wife but his wife could only stretch their wedding rings then disappeared swallowed by the earth. The extent to which the truth of this story hard to prove. the real cave still exists until today.

Early detection of breast cancer can safely life



KOTA KINABALU: The early detection of breast cancer through a mammogram test can help save lives if detected early.
Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said the findings show the chances of cure are high if the cancer is detected and treated effectively in its early stages.
"Therefore, the awareness is a major factor to detect cancer at an early stage to be treated successfully.
"Hopefully, through various breast cancer awareness program conducted in October of each year to further enhance awareness and facts about breast cancer in the community," he said in his speech in conjunction with breast cancer awareness campaign by Permai Polyclinic, here yesterday.
The speech was delivered by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Social Development, Datuk Asnimar Sukardi.
Azizah said over the past three years a total of 17 out of Sabah 3.368 tested positive mammogram detected cancer.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Glorious Polyclinic, Dr. James Jeremiah said the cooperation between the Glorious Polyclinic and Kinabalu Pink Ribbon, he hoped that was able to increase the awareness of breast cancer in the community.
"Through an open forum, this effort is to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education about early screening, symptoms and treatment," he said.
In support of breast cancer awareness campaign, at 1 to October 31, the Polyclinic in Jalan Pantai Permai offer breast ultrasound or mammogram for a fee of RM40 per person.

Raising funds through the treatment will be donated to Kinabalu Pink Ribbon subsidies for the purchase of vans to provide services to women in rural and sub-urban areas.
